*Note: Mark 16:9—20 is missing from some of the oldest manuscripts and in some cases it has a different ending or has notations indicating it is questioned. It appears that at some early stage a portion of the document was lost in some copies. Also Eusebius and Jerome indicated they thought Mark ended with verse 8.
In favor of its validity, it is found in all of the Uncial or earlier Greek manuscripts except Codex Vaticanus and the Codex Sinaiticus. The Alexandrian manuscript, one of the oldest, contains it. In some of the manuscripts where it is not found there is a space left indicating something is missing. It is found in all of the Cursive or later Greek manuscripts. It is found in all of the most ancient versions. Irenaeus, in the second century and others later writers quotes from it.
