I.         SUPERIORITY OF JESUS TO JUDAISM  (1:4--10:18)

A.      Better Than Angels Who Gave The Law (1:4--2:18; cf. Deut. 33:2; Acts 7:53; Gal. 3:19)

1.        Better name than they. (“My son”) (1:5 cf. Ps 2:7)

2.        Worshipped by the Angels (1:6; cf. Ps. 97:7?)

3.        He was called “God.”  Angels were called “spirits.” (1:7-8 cf. Ps. 104:4; 45:6)

4.        Supreme. Anointed above all others (1:9 cf. Ps 45:7)
